Doggy Style LLC - Grooming Agreement & Terms of Service:
Current Vaccinations/Veterinarian Information:
By signing this agreement, owners verify their dog(s) is current on rabies, distemper, and parvo-virus vaccinations. Proof of vaccination or current Titer testing shall be provided to Doggy Style LLC upon request, as well as current veterinarian information.
Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs:
Owners must inform Doggy Style LLC if their dog(s) bites, has bitten, or is aggressive toward people, other dogs, or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your dog and protects both the dog and the groomer. Doggy Style LLC reserves the right to refuse/stop service for such dogs at any time before or during the grooming process and charge a Special Handling fee in addition to the regular grooming charge. Customers also understand that all bites will be reported to local authorities as required by law and Virginia’s “One Bite” rule.
Health or Medical Problems & Senior Dogs:
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior dogs or dogs with health problems. These procedures can expose hidden or aggravate known medical problems during or after the groom. Senior dogs with health problems will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, with a style that will not add to their stress.
In the interest of your dog’s well-being, this agreement gives Doggy Style LLC permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment should it be deemed necessary. We will make efforts to contact you first, then take your dog to your authorized veterinarian or the nearest available veterinarian. You agree to authorize medical treatment at the nearest available emergency veterinarian should your pet require emergency care. ALL expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the dog's owner upon submission of this Grooming Agreement.
Mat Removal:
Dogs with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Mats left in a dog’s coat will only grow tighter, potentially strangling the skin or causing it to tear open. Doggy Style LLC does not wish to cause serious stress to your dog and will not continually de-mat your dog. We believe in comfort over vanity. Mats can be very difficult and uncomfortable to remove and may require the dog to be shaved.
Removing a heavily matted coat carries risks, including nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the dog's skin, which may lead to mold, fungus, or bacterial infections. Torn skin from mats can harbor maggots.
After-effects of mat removal can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations, or abrasions, and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved dogs may be prone to sunburn and should be kept out of the sun until their coat regrows.
There is an extra charge for dematting, and regular grooming is recommended to prevent mats.
Accidents
Grooming equipment is sharp, and although extreme caution is used, cuts, nicks, and scratches may occur, especially if the dog is wiggling or moving around.
We reserve the right to stop grooming a dog if it becomes too anxious or stressed. If a grooming service is incomplete, a partial or full grooming charge may still apply.
Parasites
If you suspect your dog has fleas or ticks, immediate action is necessary. If fleas or ticks are found during grooming, an additional fee will apply to treat your dog. Ticks will be removed for an additional charge, and we recommend having your dog tested for Lyme disease if ticks are found. Fleas and ticks pose health risks to both dogs and humans.
Hold Harmless Agreement
By signing this agreement, you agree to hold Doggy Style LLC harmless from any damage, liability, financial loss, or claim, including but not limited to veterinarian bills arising from conditions of your dog(s), whether known or unknown to Doggy Style LLC, or other property of the customer.
Photography Consent
You consent to having your pet(s) and/or you photographed or recorded and authorize Doggy Style LLC to use, reproduce, publish, and distribute the photographs and videos for promotional purposes. The use of images remains royalty-free indefinitely.
Delayed Pickup
Doggy Style LLC is not a boarding facility and cannot board animals overnight. If your dog is not picked up by closing time (6:00 PM EST at the latest), an additional $50 after-hours pickup fee will apply. If the dog is left overnight, a $100 per night fee will apply, plus any necessary food, medication, or other items.
Holiday Late Pick-Up: During holidays (such as Thanksgiving and Christmas), the fee increases to $200 for the first night and $100 for each following night. We have the right to place your dog in a temporary boarding facility at your expense.
No Shows & Cancellations:
Failure to show up or last-minute cancellations within 72 hours prior to appointment) will count towards the limit of two grace occurrences.
Grace Cancellations & Prepayment Policy: Each client is allowed up to two last-minute reschedules, cancellations, or no-shows without penalty. After the second occurrence, any pre-set future appointments will be canceled, and a deposit will be required to reserve new appointments. This deposit will cover the full cost of the groom and will be applied to the appointment once completed. Any additional charges, such as taxes, matting fees, or flea and tick fees, will be added during the appointment and must be paid upon completion.
Alternatively, to retain pre-set future appointments, you may opt to pay a "Good Faith Fee." This fee covers the full cost of the groom, including taxes and any add-ons like dye, in the event of a last-minute cancellation, reschedule, or no-show.
If the "Good Faith Fee" is not settled within a reasonable timeframe, all future appointments will be canceled. At that point, a deposit will be required to book each new appointment individually.
Please Note: Continued unreliability, including repeated late cancellations, short notice reschedules, or no-shows, may result in no longer being eligible for grooming services.
Additional Grooming Fee & Proof of Grooming Important Update:
Dogs requiring haircuts should be groomed every 6 to 8 weeks. Dogs that have gone longer than 12 weeks without grooming may incur an additional fee due to difficulty grooming them properly, especially if mats or poor conditions are present.
Proof of Grooming: If your dog has been groomed elsewhere, please provide proof (receipt, appointment confirmation) to avoid the additional fee. Without proof, the fee will apply.
Exceptions: If your dog is well-maintained, not matted, and in good condition, the fee may be waived. Please reach out if you're unsure whether this applies to your dog.
Unaltered Female Dogs in Heat:
I will not groom any unaltered female dog that is actively bleeding. This is for sanitary reasons and to prevent behavior-related stress or injury.
Client Responsibility: It is crucial to monitor your dog's heat cycle and reschedule if your dog is showing signs of bleeding or other heat cycle symptoms within the 72-hour cancellation window.
Fee for Last-Minute Rescheduling: If a dog arrives in heat or bleeding, the appointment may be canceled immediately, and a rescheduling fee will apply if you have exceeded your two allotted grace cancellations/no-shows.
Repeated Issues: If this occurs repeatedly, a service fee will be implemented to cover the lost time and inconvenience caused.
Acknowledgment & Agreement
By signing, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the policies, pricing, and fees listed above, including any updates. I confirm I am the legal owner of the dog(s) listed and authorize my veterinarian to release necessary health information to Doggy Style LLC.
